Smartdeco is clearly 'bang on trend'

Found this in The Sunday Times Style Magazine at the weekend (24th Feb 2013). The model's eye make up bears an uncanny resemblance to my 'Love' painting as pictured here in my brochure. Ironically the article uses this as an example of how 'not' to do your make up!!

The Pebble Head Royal Family

I painted this piece to commemorate The Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. It was created prior to the day of the wedding so I had to guess who would appear on the balcony at Buckingham Palace, and visualise how they would gather and what they might wear.

I think top left is the most pleasing composition, with a low horizon there's that sense of space and distance. These are to scale but the actual painting is 200 x 130cm, that's a lot of sky! Plenty of room for the starlings, which are a key part of the painting.

After some planning with the seascape sketches and the stick-on cloud experiment, I couldn't ponder any longer. Feeling brave one sunny day, I went for it and set about disturbing that cloudless blue sky. Here's a photo of those first few marks:

I had several comments from people at the studio suggesting that I should leave the sky as it is because it looks beautifully warm and sunny and the blending had been well-executed. I agreed that it's even simplicity worked well in contrast to the more detailed sea but the intention
